When you smell an essential oil the aroma enters through cilia (the fine hairs lining the nose) it triggers the olfactory nerve to send signals, which travels to the limbic system, the part of the brain that is the storehouse of moods, emotions, memory and learning.

Creating Pure Essential oils:

Essential oils are concentrated extracts of herbs, bark, leaves and flowers.

Through the distillation process raw plant material, consisting of  flowers, leaves, wood, bark, roots, seeds, or peel, is put into an alembic (distillation apparatus) over water. As the water is heated, the steam passes through the plant material, vaporizing it. The vapours flow through a coil, where they condense back to liquid, which is then collected.
